The phrase "rustic elegance" has been overused, but quite frankly, it is universally understood and conveys an immediate impression of a lodge, inn or resort. So we're using it to describe Falling Waters®. Located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia just 75 miles north of Atlanta and 11 miles east of historic downtown Ellijay. Southern hospitality is served "mountain style" at Falling Waters® Mountain Lodge and guests experience the charm and culture authentic to this mountain region.
The lodge includes four well-appointed guest rooms, cozy sitting areas with stacked stone fireplaces and delicious meals. Guests have access to 1,700 acres of lush forest, miles of well-maintained walking and hiking trails, cascading waterfalls and long-range mountain vistas. The highlight of the property could be its extraordinary fishing. Exceptional guide services offered by Orvis give guests inside knowledge about landing trophy trout and bass, both on- and off-property, for both the beginner and the experiences angler.
Mountain charm and great fishing
The Lodge's concept is "to offer accommodations that provide the personalized service and amenities of a Southern country inn with the comfort and technology of an upscale brand hotel." That has happened. The Lodge features 55 guest rooms including king and queen suites, adjoining rooms as well as four handicap friendly rooms. The Lobby business center allows use of the Internet, printer, scanner and fax machines. The lodge also has two meeting rooms they use for retreats, rehearsal dinners and wedding receptions, and as meet and greet area for car clubs.
The Lodge is located near Tallulah Falls on U.S. highways 23 and 441, an easy 2 hour drive out of Atlanta on beautiful four-lane roads.
The lodge is thriving and well on its way to becoming one of the finest in the mountains. This doesn't surprise me as it was opened and is managed by Nancy Plate, on my list as one of the top three mountain innkeepers, and has brought to the Lodge her vast expertise honed by successful managerial experience in trendy Highlands and Asheville, NC.
